Filming Surprise: from the Original Town Site to Loop 303

Flora Mae Statler named this place Surprise in 1938 because she said she would be surprised if it ever amounted to much. It is now a city of more than 140,000 with a sold-out rail-served industrial park, better than a million square feet of new retail out at Prasada, and a stadium that fills twice over every spring for the Rangers and the Royals. The marketing has not caught up to the growth. Influence Studios closes that gap with commercials, brand films and social campaigns built strategy-first, made by a crew whose work runs through Lamborghini, Nike, Ford and Super Bowl LVII activations.

Why Surprise

Local knowledge. National-grade craft.

Logistics are simple out here because Grand Avenue (US-60) runs the diagonal straight from the studio's block into town: a crew is at Surprise Stadium in roughly 25 minutes and out at Loop 303 shortly after, no travel day, no per-diem theater. We film at your plant, your model home, your clinic or your court, and when a spot needs a stage instead of a location, the nearly 10,000 sq ft Glendale facility carries a 30×10 ft LED volume wall (the studio's own claim: the highest quality screen in Arizona), a 2,000+ sq ft cyclorama and standing sci-fi, motel and bar sets. Edit, color, sound and CGI happen in the same building, which is why Surprise projects come back in weeks rather than quarters.

01

The Railplex and the plants inside it

Two square miles of BNSF rail-served industrial ground off Waddell Road, sold out, foreign trade zone, corporate headquarters and thousands of jobs. Plant tours, capability films, safety libraries and recruiting spots shot on a live floor without shutting the line down.

02

New rooftops, new storefronts

Asante, Sterling Grove, Zanjero Trails and the Prasada build-out put builders, brokers, dentists, gyms and restaurants into Surprise every quarter. Grand-opening coverage, model-home walkthroughs, and a month of vertical social cut from one shoot day.

03

The Sun City Grand audience

A serious share of this city's spending power lives in age-restricted communities, and it buys from video that respects it: clear, warm, well-lit, no frantic jump cuts. Healthcare, home services and financial brands get testimonial films and explainers pitched to that viewer, not to a 19-year-old on TikTok.

Photography in Surprise

Surprise photography: model homes, medical teams, Marley Park light

Surprise sells houses, so real estate stills lead: model-home interiors, twilight exteriors and drone frames across Asante, Sterling Grove and Zanjero Trails, bracketed properly so the windows are not blown out and the sky is not fake. Second lane is headshots and team photography for the clinics, dental groups, insurance offices and franchises along Bell Road and at Prasada, shot on site or on the motorized six-color seamless in the Glendale portrait studio (sets from $49/hr, five looks in one room). Third is on-location portrait work in the places this city actually photographs well: Marley Park's tree-lined streets and lamp posts, the White Tank Mountains catching last light on the western skyline. Same shooters and same color pipeline as the video, so the listing, the billboard and the commercial all match.

Shoot on location here, or bring it to the Glendale portrait studio: five standing sets including a motorised six-colour seamless wall, a Victorian book wall and a 150 sq ft grass wall, from $49/hr.

The studio anchors it

The stage behind every Surprise shoot.

When the location won’t cooperate (heat, light, noise), production moves to our 10,000 sq ft Glendale facility: a 30 ft LED volume wall, a 2,000+ sq ft cyclorama stage, a podcast suite, and standing sets. Every space books by the hour, online.

Good to know

Surprise questions, answered.

Multi-cam coverage is a core service and both venues are built for it: the stadium seats a full spring-training crowd, and the tennis complex has a 2,500-seat show court with 25 courts around it. Camera positions get agreed with the venue in pre-production, a small tight crew works the day, and you get a recap edit the same week plus vertical cutdowns for socials.

Both, from one visit. A model home films and photographs in the same session: a walkthrough for the listing and the paid ads, twilight exteriors and interior stills for print, drone frames of the street grid and the amenity center. Real estate is a proven lane, and one Keller Williams group closed $9M in 90 days on the back of Influence-built marketing.

Grand Avenue does the work. It is about 25 minutes from the Bell Road corridor to 7018 N 57th Ave in Glendale, a little longer coming from the Loop 303 side at rush hour. Close enough that Surprise clients book the stage by the hour instead of paying for a location, and close enough that our crews reach your site without a travel day on the invoice.
