Litchfield Park Video Production, Wigwam to Rose Park

Litchfield Park exists because a tire company needed cotton. Goodyear sent Paul Litchfield out in 1916 to buy roughly 16,000 acres of the Agua Fria valley for Egyptian long-staple cotton to reinforce tire cord, he laid the town out in wide boulevards and planted them with palms and orange trees, and the guest house he built for visiting Akron executives opened as the Wigwam on Thanksgiving Day 1929. A century on, that leaves 3.3 square miles and about 6,800 residents that look nothing like the rest of the West Valley: full-grown canopy, no strip-mall grid, and a 440-acre resort with 54 holes of golf sitting in the middle of town.

Why Litchfield Park

Local knowledge. National-grade craft.

Influence Studios works this city from a nearly 10,000 sq ft facility in Glendale, roughly 20 minutes east. The mix here is conference and hospitality content at the Wigwam, brand and executive work for the professional offices along Litchfield Road, and photography that trades on shade the neighboring cities do not have. One local rule shapes every schedule: Luke Air Force Base sits directly north, so anything that flies is a pre-production line item rather than a surprise on the day. Everything after the shoot, edit through color, sound and CGI, finishes under the studio roof.

01

The Wigwam is a conference venue as much as a resort

440 acres, 331 casitas and roughly 100,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor meeting space mean corporate groups land here all winter. Keynote and breakout capture, a sizzle reel cut overnight for the next morning's general session, sponsor films, and headshots run out of a spare meeting room between blocks.

02

Shade, which the West Valley mostly does not have

Litchfield's 1920s boulevards are now mature palms and orange trees, Rose Park on Village Parkway holds a rose garden, a fountain and a shaded amphitheater stage, and Tierra Verde Lake Park puts 4.5 acres of water and a fishing dock on Old Litchfield Road. When a spot has to read green and lived-in instead of new and beige, this is where it gets shot.

03

Everything that flies here clears Luke first

Luke Air Force Base's Class D airspace reaches about five miles out and covers a large share of the city, Old Litchfield and Wigwam Creek included. Commercial drone flights need LAANC authorization plus a notification to base operations, filed weeks ahead. Where clearance will not land in time, the shot gets rebuilt on a jib or a mast rather than dropped from the edit.

Areas we shoot in Litchfield Park

On your street, not just in your city.

Crews work these Litchfield Park neighbourhoods and corridors regularly, so call sheets, parking and permits are a known quantity before the shoot day.

  • Old Litchfield, the historic square mile around Wigwam Boulevard
  • Wigwam Creek North
  • Wigwam Creek South
  • Litchfield Greens, out on the Wigwam fairways
  • Russell Ranch
  • The Village Parkway loop past Rose and Aleppo parks
  • Old Litchfield Road, from the Recreation Center down to Tierra Verde Lake
  • The Litchfield Road office and medical corridor

Locations worth building a shot around

  • The Wigwam, open since Thanksgiving Day 1929
  • Rose Park and its amphitheater on Village Parkway
  • Tierra Verde Lake Park on Old Litchfield Road
  • The Church at Litchfield Park, built in 1939
  • Litchfield Park Recreation Center at 100 S. Old Litchfield Road
  • Goodyear Farms Historic Cemetery

Photography in Litchfield Park

Portraits under trees planted in the 1920s

Two things here are close to unavailable elsewhere in the West Valley: mature canopy and standing water. Rose Park's garden and fountain on Village Parkway, the lake and dock at Tierra Verde Lake Park, the orange-lined runs of Old Litchfield Road and the Wigwam's lawns carry engagement sessions, milestone anniversaries and the multigenerational family portraits this city books more of than most (median age 45.7, with nearly a quarter of residents over 65). The commercial half is headshots for the Litchfield Road offices, conference and event stills at the Wigwam, and architectural coverage of the custom homes in Russell Ranch and Litchfield Greens. When the light or the heat refuses to cooperate, the Glendale portrait studio and its five sets are 20 minutes east.

Shoot on location here, or bring it to the Glendale portrait studio: five standing sets including a motorised six-colour seamless wall, a Victorian book wall and a 150 sq ft grass wall, from $49/hr.

The studio anchors it

The stage behind every Litchfield Park shoot.

When the location won’t cooperate (heat, light, noise), production moves to our 10,000 sq ft Glendale facility: a 30 ft LED volume wall, a 2,000+ sq ft cyclorama stage, a podcast suite, and standing sets. Every space books by the hour, online.

Good to know

Litchfield Park questions, answered.

With the resort's sign-off, and it is worth asking early. The Wigwam runs 440 acres, 331 casitas and a full events calendar, so access gets scheduled with their team around guest privacy and whichever group has the ballrooms that week. Frames on the Gold, Red or Blue courses need a tee-sheet window, which in practice means first light.

For essentially any commercial flight inside the city, yes. Luke's Class D airspace covers most of Litchfield Park, so a flight needs LAANC authorization and a notification to base operations submitted well ahead of the date. Routine paperwork, but paperwork that does not clear on the morning of the shoot.

Yes. The Gathering closes the streets around 214 W. Wigwam Boulevard for two days of Native American art and it is one of more than twenty events the city puts on each year, alongside Christmas in the Park and the free Arts in the Park concerts. Street festivals reward a small footprint, so interview positions get scouted before the crowd arrives and the booth keeps selling while we work.
